A design classic wall hanging lamp with its adapted & original crudely fashioned factory welded solid metal circular base. Still as modern today as it did 80 years from its first manufacture.The 1208 and 1209 model Anglepoise lamps the first designed by George Cawardine of the now famous spring loaded Anglepoise lamp designs. This lamp preceded the iconic 1227 lamps produced by Herbert Terry & Son during the 1950’s – 60’s and can also be wall mounted

Stripped to its bare metal  for a brushed look and spray varnished for a sheen and to prevent corrosion. Supplied with a broad diameter shade. The 4 springs allow the lamp to be positioned and angled with a light touch that then keeps its position, making a perfectly balanced and functional lamp. Perfect for many table tops and desks in the home and workplace, this classic, adjustable lamp is a must have and will enhance any creative décor.

Originally designed originally as commercial task lighting, however the market for home and office use soon became apparent.
The model number 1273A is slightly bigger than the 1273 model, and with different features to the 1209.

In excellent condition for its age, with a larger than normal cone shade and some light tarnish to the spring chrome fixings.
The lamp has been fully rewired with 2 core white  flex (approx 202cm) and has been fitted with a new chrome lamp holder and 3 pin UK plug.With its many adjustable positions, the lamp, standing at its full height measures 113cm while the very heavy base of the lamp measures 14cm high & 14cm in diameter and the shade measures 14cm high with a diameter of 25cm.

As an original vintage item, though refurbished, it will have expected signs of its age wear from use as seen in the images
